The PJ Gala is our largest fundraising event of the year and is a great way to get to know the other families of PJ, enjoy a fun-filled evening together, and raise funds for our school. Since we are heading into the 2020s, it is only fitting for this year's Gala theme to be The Speakeasy: Welcome to the Roaring 20s!

What to wear: Your choice! Get dressed up in your “mamma needs a night out” outfit or that suit in the back of your closet - or if you feel like getting dolled up in some 1920’s Speakeasy chic that works too! If you’re looking for ideas, you can find some inspiration here.

Along with the tried-and-true Gala traditions of auctions and amazing raffles, this year we will also be adding a little casino gaming with great prizes - what’s a Speakeasy without a little gambling, right?

Planning is already well underway, and we really need your help to make it a success! Here are a few ways you can support:

• BUY A TICKET FOR YOU, YOUR FAMILY & FRIENDS! Tickets include dinner, 1 drink and “fun money” to use at the casino tables. Early-bird pricing will be in effect until February 9th, so make sure to get your tickets early!

• Volunteer – an event this size takes a village, and we need your help!

• Be a Gala Sponsor – we need sponsorship for the venue costs, welcome drink, casino tables, music and décor. Every bit helps, and all sponsors will be recognized through event signage and in the program.

• Donate an Auction Item – if you can donate products, experiences or services to be auctioned off (or know someone who can) please let us know.

• Donate – if you want to support but can’t attend or donate your time, please consider making a cash donation.

Can I bring my child to the Gala?

PJ Gala is an adults-only event - if you're looking for babysitting recommendations, send an email to pjgala2020@gmail.com.

What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?

Take a taxi or hop in a car with your designated driver - plenty of parking at the venue.

What should I wear?
Wear whatever makes you happy! But seriously, if you want to wear a litte black dress, your Sunday suit, or you want to get into the theme by wearing something reminiscent of the 1920s, go for it! Check out our Pinterest board for inspiration here - https://pin.it/jxbf3r2tzlhkso.

What will the funds raised be used for?
Funds raised by the PAC are used to support with PAC programs (eg. musicals, Saint John Ambulance courses, Sports Day, Artist in Residence, Bonhomme, Grade 7 Quebec trip), PJ classrooms (eg. discretionary funds, gym equipment, musical equipment) and PJ building improvement (eg. painting of basketball court and four square courts, outdoor water fountain, signage, electronic equipment upgrades).

How will I know what table I'll be sitting at?
There won't be assigned tables this year, and the event will be set up cocktail style - plenty of delicious food stations and lots of seating options to catch up with friends, so you definitely will not leave hungry or with sore feet!

What payment options are available at the event?
To purchase raffle tickets or pay for auction items at the event, we'll be accepting cash or you can put it on your tab and pay at the end of the night - note that there is no bank machine at the venue, so if you're planning on using cash make sure you bring plenty with you. Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

Print it out or save a tree and have the ticket open on your device when you arrive.
